Influences on your behaviour

Whilst nature versus nurture advocates argue that part of our behaviour is defined through our genes. There is scientific evidence that much of our personality is influenced and acquired over time through our culture, upbringing in our social and work environment.

Our primary personality style tends to be more stable from the age of 25 onwards although radical emotional events have the ability to change that. Being aware of cultural biases etc. is important to not misinterpret someone’s conflict solver style, for example, some people are conflict seekers whereas others are conflict avoiders.
